Sun rays on my face tickle and play,
Smiling a lazy smile,
I further squeeze those sleepy eyes.
More rays tickle, more I hide,
The hide-and-seek goes on till
the sun gives that dashing victorious smile.
I wake up and bow to the Magnificent
with many names, Aditya, Isha, Bhanu,
Sharanya, Achyuta, Ananta, Indra and Vasu.
Glorious and bright like a little bird’s first chirp
The Sun whispers—wake up dear,
and I smile.
