What’s a new year?
Or any other landmark day
for that matter?
Just another day?
A change of date?
Or a break from the daily chores,
As mechanically we go on,
Fulfilling responsibilities,
For us and the world,
Without any sense of purpose.
So stop, think and dream,
Find things that really mean,
And keep you awake,
Even in your sleep.
It’s a mean world,
Selfish and self-centered,
It will suck your dreams,
If you don’t have your passion’s shield,
Like a burning fire,
If you don’t fiercely desire,
Your dreams will become tears,
Filling ponds and rivers,
While the world will become greener,
For you it will always be cold-winter.
So stop, think and dream,
Do things that really mean,
And keep you awake,
Even in your sleep.
Helping is good,
Providing for the family
is wonderful,
So is the feeling of adventure,
Creating something new
With passion,
Just don’t give away,
Your dream, your joy,
Do everything else, but also this,
To experience that sweet bliss.
So stop, think and dream,
Create things that really mean,
And keep you awake,
Even in your sleep.
